I am still trying to maintain some exercise by walking along the beach. If you are still exercising, are you retaining water. I feel like my feet and ankles might be a bit swollen and thought it might be due to exercising less. I am 37 weeks........it will be over soon enough - just thought i would find out how others are doing?

I am writing from Australia so the hotter temps may have something to do with it as its summer here.

in general, pregnancy and hot weather makes you retain water. Exercise is great b/c it forces all of your vessels to flow. I exercised right up until the day I went into labor and I couldn't be happier about it. It made my delivery and post-partum recovery so much easier. As far as how much to exercise, you just need to listen to your body... be alert to excessive tiredness or diziness. every woman is different. As long as you are consistent with an exercise routine, you should have no problems.

Its good to do mild excersise, especially towards the end of the pregnancy cuz it stregthens the body for labour. Just stick to the walks, trust me you'll be more swollen if you stop walking, at least by walking you are keeping circulation going if you just sit around you will retain more water.
