It seems he is very polite and well-mannered-was it because his parents spanked him when he misbehaved?

Not necessarily. I was a well behaved child and I wasn't spanked. I was just taught how to be polite and kind when I was really young. Maybe he was taught the same thing when he was little.

Yes Zac's dad did spank him a few times for being disrespectful and for lying.
