They are involved in the war on terror... they are putting the squeeze on Iran by keeping the production quotas high. Iran imports more oil and natural gas than they export, low fuel prices is killing Iran. The Saudis are helping to bankrupt Iran just as Reagan bankrupted the USSR with the threat of the SDI program.

They are much closer than simply pals.

I have seen Bush spend more time holding Saudi Royals hands than he does holding Laura's or his daughters'.

We all know the phrase "Blood is thicker than water", but money is thicker than blood (especially when the blood isn't yours). And GW would not be where he is today, if not for Saudi financial infusions.

Action - Bin Laden (a Saudi) enlisted 19 Saudi hijackers to attack America.

Reaction - Let Bin Laden escape in Afghanistan and invade Iraq.

It is just a coincidence that Saddam was a real nuisance to the Saudi Royal family, and just lucky for the Saudis that the security situation in Iraq has prevented any large increase of oil supply from Iraq that might lower the oil prices even further.

Like the elections of 2000, 2004, 2006, 9/11, and so many other subjects since Bush took control of the presidency, it is all just coincidence.

We will not tolerate any discussion of wild conspiracy theories.

Saudi Arabia did not sponsor any terror attacks that I know of.

Al Qaeda is made up of Islamists from all over the world. Osama bin Laden chose Saudi members for the 9/11 attack to trick people like you into trying to drive wedges between the US and Saudi Arabia. Why?

Al Qaeda was created out of Islamists who went to Afghanistan to fight the Soviets. When Saddam Hussein threatened Saudi Arabia, Osama told the Saudis to let his people come and defend their Holy Land. The Saudis rightly did not trust Al Qaeda extremists and asked the US to handle the defense instead. A smart move, considering that Saddam sent an invasion force of tanks into Saudi Arabia, the sort of thing Al Qaeda could not have stopped.

Al Qaeda was infuriated that the Saudis asked the US to defend them and are trying to create conflict between the two countries.

Because Saudi Arabia has been fighting Al Quaeda.

Go back and read the newspapers from about two years ago. Read about the pitched battles that occurred between the Saudi police and Al Quaeda.

hi mr moore

It might be related to the fact that while Saudi individuals may hate the US, their government is an ally and a major trading partner with the US.

In addition, there is a fear that if the current Saudi government is overthrown, that a more hostile government will take its place.

They were supposedly "rogue" Saudi Araian Radical Islamic Extremists!

I do remember a journalist interviewing a Bin laden family member who lives in the USA about whether he would turn in Osama and his answer was "would you turn in your brother?"

it is included and there are pressure on the Saudi government to change many things and to answer many questions but in the same time they don't want to jeopardize their interest in that country.

Please learn some of the fact surrounding the issues instead of spouting the liberal non-truths that permeate the web. You sound awfully silly making totally unfounded statements when any educated person knows the truth of the matter. It completely wipes out any semblance of credibility you might hope to achieve.
