1) first try to change both number to whole numbers( multiply by 10)

16 : 3.6 will become 160 : 36 find the HCF.

160 = 4 x 40
36 = 4 x 9 dividing both numbers by 9.

16 : 3.6 = 40 : 9 //answer


2) first have both numbers in same units. it will be aesier to convert yards to feet ( 1 yd = 3 feet).

12 feet : 3(3 feet)
12 : 9 --------------divide by common factor 3
4 : 3 //answer
