I listened to them a long time ago. It was back when virtuosos of guitar and bass were prevelant. The bassist was insane. He played a six string fretless. Check out the album "Sailing the Seas of Cheese". They were kind of a punk/funk/rock band. The bass was the dominant instrument. For what they were they were very good. It can be challenging to listen to, though.

dont listen to them myself,but i know that the bass player plays a really big bass or (upright bass).they are pretty good im told,its like a funk/rock band.

primus is usually considered metal. less claypool the bassist is in several other bands, the flying frog brigade, oyster head with trey anastasio from phish. there's another but i'm not sure of the name.

They wrote and play the Theme Song to Comedy Central, "South Park" show. It has been on for 10 years. My friend has a DVD by them, where it shows them performing on stage and has some MTV video songs they made. I forgot the name of the DVD... sorry.
