He does not find Krypton, only what remains of his planet, which is just some debris. As for what weakens him, that is not Krypton, it is Kryptonite, the radioactive material from the planet, which is radioactive from the explosion of the planet and the travels through space.

Also, Superman is shielded in the Crystal ship while he explores that area of space, so it is possible if there was any radiation there, it would be stopped by the Crystals of his ship.

the same forces that make Superman super also act upon various minerals and ores of his home planet turning them into what we know as 'Kryptonite(K). The Various forms of K affect him in a variety of ways, the amount of K variations and what they do to him varies by source material. The most common forms are Green which weakens and would eventually kill him, and Red which typically affects him mentally.

When he went to where Krypton was, whatever remained of it was where the planet was, and had not been affected as those shards which folloed him to Earth, much like once he used up any stored energy within him he too would become mortal, as the effects of his time on Earth would have been negated.

1st , Superman is only super human when he is away from his home planet. When he had returned to the place near where he was born, he was human like again. While in this human state, the mineral that is found near his home planet would not have affected him, even if he had made contact with it. What this mineral does anyway is take away his powers, and then he is able to die because he no longer has his super human abilities or immunities to this planet.

It's best answered by Lois when she explains it to Richard. Kryptonite (the mineral) will kill him because it's radioactive. But the planet itself will not. On the same vein, Earth has radioactivity that can potentially kill people but Earth by itself won't do so.

KRYPTON doesnt weaken ssuperman....KRYPTONITE does....by that logic....all KRYPTONIANS would be dead as soon as they are born...which is a paradox in itself...(WOW....nerd moment)
