i am asking the very same question... college students have to walk around campus more than little kids. so, we are all at danger of frost bite!!!
in northwestern Ohio, more than 500 schools have closed for tomorrow, but none of them are colleges... i am still hoping they close in the morning.
my college HAS closed in the past for snow, but not in the last year or two. i am keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow!

It can happen, when I was in high school, they've closed school before because of the cold. The superintendent of the school has to think of the children waiting for the bus or walking to school, and if it would be dangerous for them to do so, he or she should cancel school or possibly have a late start to let the temperatures rise.
For colleges...well, I don't know. Mine never closed for any reason, but I've had individual classes be canceled due to weather. Check the school's website to see what their inclement weather policy is, and it'll also tell you how to check to see if school will be closed for that day.
Either way, check the local news stations on tv before heading to school/sending your kids to school!

I stay the following in illinois too and that i'm guessing your contained in the chicago section (the suburbs) and they advised us that too and maximum likely they gained't cancel college, for the reason that tuesday they were telling us about how chilly it truly is outside notwithstanding it should be a great number of hardship for most college districts to cancel college you already know? My instructor advised me that the school district ought to close college if it reaches below -30 stages, are you able to've faith that?! they're some bastards mann i think undesirable for the folk who've to stroll to varsity ;/ yet yeah they're assume to cancel it yet maximum likely they don't look to be.

yes! right now most of the schools districts in my area already have a 2 hour delay because of the low temperatures, and in the morning closures might be called. The low temp. is dangerous for the students waiting outside for the bus.
I hope you get a delay!

Yes it can close schools. A lot of schools will be closed around here tomorrow. Your local radio or T.V. stations will have school closings posted in the morning.

Depends on your school. My school had to have a foot and half of snow before it would cancel, and it would just delay for ice or fog. I doubt it though. Just do your homework ;D

that all depends on state laws on weather related cancellations, and the school administration, check your school's website for closure or cancellation bulletins.

Very doubtful. It would probably have to be storming outside to close school, or the heaters would have to be broken.
