I am almost certain that I am transgendered, but I have a problem: sometimes I do not think that I should be male, just neutral. Is it normal to sometimes feel that way?

Also, I have only felt this way for a year or so... shouldn't I have felt trapped in the wrong body since I was very young?

If all this means that I am not a real transgendered person, then what am I? Is there something wrong with me?

what you just described is what almost all transgendered people feel. It is normal, and you will sort out all your feelings. Speak with others like you and maybe join a support group. good luck to you

This means you are a transgendered person. Sometimes transgendered people do not feel they fit in with either male or female. The feel neutral like you described. If you want more information on it just look it up on the web or check out a book. You can also get more help at your local GLBT community center. Many times they provide counseling and support groups for free.

Best to you,

Jason

There's a great explanation about what happens in the brain that makes people feel they're in the wrong body. It's in Dr. Seligman's book, "What You Can Change and What You Can't." His theory is that it happens when the fetus is in the womb, so, yes, you would have felt this way since you were very young. I have a transgendered friend, and she's always felt this way, too.

You sound confused. Yes, it's okay to be neutral. You should probably consult a therapist.

Usualy before transgendered stage you will be considered someone with a gender nonconformity. This is where someone constructs many or some of the characteristics that seem to belong to the opposite gender.
Some children may be born with a predisposition to constructing gender nonconformity, while other children will learn characteristics that cause them t o have a gender nonconformity. Gender nonconformity is a seperate issue then homosexuality, it is different than transvestite, or transgendered. These often can be constructed if someone had a gender nonconformity.I find that more of the children that learn characteristics that cause them to have a gender nonconformity grow out of it, even grow out of most of the characteristixcs they have constructed.
Though it could be your case that stands out as to all ages can coonstruct gender nonconformity and it is never or has ever been a hormonal issue , but learning . So if a child learns characteristics, the child has more time to construct ideas than a teenager learn characteristics and just starts constructing ideas.

Yes, you should have.

No, there is nothing wrong with you.

I don't have enough from your post to even hazard a comment beyond that.

Remember that you are wonderful and awesome and can do anything.

I wonder -- guilt? Maybe, depends on how you were taught to think about sexuality and how much of it you bought. A desire to escape sexual entanglements entirely? Maybe if you had a bad one....

Email me if you need someone to listen to you -- I'll try to comment if I think I have anything to say.

Kindest thoughts,

Reyn

It is not unusual for those who are transgender. It is something only you can decide

I don't think that there is anything wrong with you but I am not really up on the topics you're talking about.
