3 Cash Inflows:

Cash From Customers - This would be sales of product, services, commissions, and the like from normal business activities. This also considers cash collected from a decrease in accounts receivable.

Proceeds from Borrowing - As it sounds this is money borrowed. On a direct method cash-flow statement it is presented separate from payments on debt.

Interest Income - Cash made from bank accounts, bonds..etc...

Cash Outflows

Cash paid to vendors & suppliers - This is the expense for inventory, services, commissions, and payroll. This will consider any changes in accrued liabilities.

Payments of debt - This is the opposite of proceeds from debt, this is cash payments to retire debt.

Investments in long lived (capital) assets - These are the purchases of equipment, buldings, computers, and other long lived assets that a company procures .
