yes i do because this country was founded on those principals. if your family doesnt believe in god then stand up and do your allegiance but leave that part out.... however if america was built on the principals of christianity and you only say half the allegiance, does that make you half ameerica? and does that help fix the racial tention if you say that you only want to be half american?

I'm not quite clear why "under God" was put into the Pledge in the 1950s. I think it was a kind of statement against Communism and Fascism. But I'm reluctant to take it out now. There's no law saying you need to say "under God" if you disbelieve in God, and most people do believe in God. We need God's help at this time.
It isn't going to get me too excited either way.

America is all about "freedom" right? Well doesn't that mean religious freedom as well? "Under God" implies that EVERY american believes in God, which we all know is far from the truth.

I don't think its big deal as some make it out to be. Not like you're required by law to convert to Christianity after saying 'under god.' It's become a sort of national tradition not national religious ritual.

no, and i dont think it should be on the dollar bill either. since we do have freedom of religion in the united states, i shouldnt be forced to be " under god " and i dont think i should have to " trust him " when i spend my money. so no, i dont.

have nothing against those who believe, but its just my thoughts on it, i dont think we as american's should be FORCED to believe anything, and we pretty much are being force fed this when we grow up learning the pledge.
