Why in an argument, are women so hell-bent on getting the last word (usually when arguing with a man)? Do women see the "last word" as winning the argument? Is it an ego/pride thing? I know this is primarily a woman thing, as men are generally not concerned such triviality as "getting in the last word." Can someone explain this? Women, have you personally been in an argument and had to get the last word? If so, why? Has anyone witnessed a man getting the last word in against the woman? If so, was the woman devastated?
I have always wondered why women have the conceived notion that "women are always right" and that she must never "lose" an argument, and "winning" according to women is getting in the last word, regardless if the adversary makes a better point.

How would you know about how much I "argue?" I don't think you know me enough to make that assertion. That said, I just skimmed through some of your answers to other questions, and in each answer you seem to have a patronizing and authoratarian demeanor about yourself. You're also very rude in all of your answers. Perhaps you are projecting your own argumentative behavior?

Women have little power, aside from sexuality. They struggle for power all day, every day -- among themselves and among men.
Women want the last word, because they want to be seen as in control of the conversation. For the same reason, a woman will say little when a house is being built by her husband, but she will fight tooth and nail to have the power to decide what color the wall is painted.

I think it is genetically programmed, just like guys are more attracted to movement than just sitting staring at something.
It is the hunter, gatherer in us, and women are admittedly much
more detail conscious. For example, there was a robbery at a woman's hair salon and those women could describe that guy to a T, I mean clothes, facial hair, hair style, etc. He might as well have left a picture behind.
Guys that witness a crime could describe the car to a T but the guy himself would be "I don't know, like 30s, you know with like you know street clothes on, maybe a jacket".
I totally subscribe to the theory men and women are wired differently... Good or bad, it seems to be the truth.

my sister is the exact same way. Its because those type of women are drama queens and control freaks. its also because of the feminist movement. women who think theyre always right are VERY self-righteous. women who are in rebellion with God especially should never get married anyway, cause they love walking all over their husbands, and threaten divorce if they don't get their way. the wife is supposed to submit to the husband

argggg...such generalizations about women irritate me; maybe this does apply to many women, but surely there are many men as well who need the "last word", as I've perceived from my own experiences/observations. Seriously. And no, the females were never "devastated", but just as annoyed as you appear to be. Don't believe that just because the women you've known or the impressions you have from WB or fox sitcoms that all women think they are "right". Some of us have more common-sense and intelligence to be so trivial, you know.

You seem to be spending an inordinate amount of time arguing and that suggests to me that YOU have the problem. Pehaps next time you should stop and think a little more before you shoot your mouth off and start yet ANOTHER argument.
EDIT:
As I told you in my response to your email regarding this that it’s never acceptable (or even very smart) to make blanket generalizations about people – whether that “people” is one individual or an entire group of individuals, STEREOTYPING is ALWAYS OFFENSIVE. Curious...you don’t appear to like it either. Did I inadvertently offend you, as you offended me?
PS: the fact that you had to post this here – that my 2 emails about this subject to you were insufficient – is that possibly YOU needing to have THE LAST WORD? How did you put it...oh yes: "I know this is primarily a woman thing..." Looks like the shoe is on the other foot now but OOoops, I wouldn't want to make any offensive blanket generalisations by crudely stereotyping male behavior, now would I?

Sex Fascination—The Disease of the Modern Age.
Sex is the overwhelming obsession of modern society. Sexual promiscuity is so unrelentingly stressed that anyone who does not appear to the highly interested in it is generally considered to be a crank. Social pressure induces people to try to maintain juvenile lustiness long after the sensual high of youth has subsided. Thus millions of people remain emotionally immature all their lives. It is a sick world.
Constant titillation of the senses, however, increasingly dulls the spirit. Thus, despite all the celluloid promises, people find themselves cheated of real happiness. In adolescence, when the senses appear to have unlimited power to invoke euphoric delights, happiness through sense enjoyment seems not only to be a distinct possibility, but the very meaning of life. But the pleasures of youth, as the poets lament, is but a fleeting frolic. The ability of the body to enjoy is like a water-laden sponge. At first, if you just pinch it, water gushes out. But as it is squeezed more and more, it gradually becomes difficult to get even a few drops of water from it.
Similarly, attempts for sexual enjoyment increasingly result in emptiness and frustration. Still, most people fail to recognize the limits of sexual enjoyment. Due to their misdirected education, they think that their lack of satisfaction with sex means there is something wrong in their approach to it. They may end up on a psychologist’s couch or reading some of the hundreds of books on “improved” sex life (Yoga for Sex, Tao for Sex, The Modern Woman’s Guide to Sex, A Doctor’s Sex Secrets, Diet for Better Sex, etc.). However, the harder they grope for pleasure, the more surely it eludes them. As they furiously try to force their bodies into giving them the happiness which they regard as a natural birthright, they may turn to frequent masturbation, increased promiscuity, pornography, varieties of perversity, and ultimately violence.
Actual civilization teaches its members to sublimate their sexual desires for higher, spiritual purposes. Modern civilization exploits people’s sexual cravings, makes a business out of it, and sends people to hell by the millions.
Seeing all this, the Vaisnavas are sorry. If only people could understand this simple fact: We are all eternal servants of Krsna. Our sexual desire is simply a perverted reflection of our heart’s deepest longings to love Krsna. If we just knew this we could all be happy. But in the darkness of the modern age it is very difficult to convince anyone that there is anything wrong with sex at all.
