Sounds great to me!
It is the male equivalent of a spa trip!

Pretty old fashioned, but you're definitely being creative. I think you have to find out how he feels about it though. Maybe rent a movie to watch where there's a old fashioned barber shaving scene and make a comment about it without being too obvious to see how he feels about it first. Maybe the movie Rounders.
ROUNDERS (1998)
A retired con man/gambler with a knack for numbers (Matt Damon) is lured back into playing cards and cons by an old friend (Ed Norton). During the movie, Damon is shown in a barbershop, getting a shave. He's lathered up, and we see a barber shaving him with a straight razor. The scene only lasts a minute or two, and the barbershop is fairly dark.
Good luck!

I think this an extremely original idea, as you said this guy has it all. I just hope you know him well enough to know how how would "take" this kind of gift. I wish you could think up one for me, my guy makes sure he gets exactly what he wants for himself and I have a terrible time finding gifts for him. (I don't have the $$ either!) But I know you wanted to hear from the men, so Ill end this. Good luck!

Make your boyfriend buy a Seiko Cleancut Shaver and let him shave you. That's the best gift for Valentine's Day. The two of you will never forget about that gift.

You want to give him something he can't buy? Try making him a card. don't buy it. Hand draw it...and put your own words in it. I guarantee he can't buy something like that. Do something for him that doesn't require material items. Those have more effect than buying something from a store. Because it's from you...not from some Hallmark that 30,000 other people have in there hands at the same time. Now....if he's a Material man. Then your screwed.

That sounds kinda stupid, not to be mean, but it does. What I do for my bf, who is in the same situation, is get him a box of candy he likes (reeses for him) a couple boxes of Sweethearts, and a card, and that night I give him extra good sex. Guys don't really expect much from girls, cause Valentine's day is more for the girls.

I think it's a very personal, says "I am thinking of how you feel" gift. If you can, try and throw in a small brunch/lunch or something afterward for the two of you. Or you could make him something. Good luck!

If he is one that is well shaven or even keps his beard trimmed just right he might like this. I get nervous around a bit of things but a good barber is not one of them.
