i get bloody noses pretty frequently. when i have one it can be as short as 10mins but also as long as 45 mins long. every year and a half or so i have to go to the doctor to get it clauterized but after a year and a half it will start up again.
my doctor has already checked for tumors and other problems, he has said it is because of blood vessels close to the skin.

my question is if instead of clauterizing it is there a more permanant solution

no not really, i have bloody noses a lot. in the bloody nose season i pretty much get a bloody nose everyday, its horrable. your doc. is right though, you might want to get vitamins with iron in them to help you with the iron in your bloode that you loose.

During the winter months I tend to get more nosebleeds because of the drier air which dries out the nasal passages making it more susceptible to rupture. What I do is just periodically spay saline solution into my nose to keep it moist.

Also, do you have high blood pressure? Might also be a factor.

No but you can help by keeping your nasal passages well lubricated with vaseline aka petroleum jelly every day and be sure that you have a humidifier running during the winter months when it is dryer.

well from my experinces i'd say just pinch the top of your nose tip your head forward and ait till it stops. whatever you do though do not tip your head back. good luck.
