am i the only one who thinks that turbotax is a ploy by the gov't to get everyone to cheat on their taxes in order to sponge more money off of the cheaters?..i bet people who use this program are more likely to be audited....id rather pay the 100 bucks to h and r block...sheesh

TurboTax appeals to the people who don't really have excessively complicated tax situations.
In those cases, it'd be best to find a CPA.
But most of those programs also come with audit protection which ensures you won't get screwed should there be an error.

Not at all. I think it's one of the best things going. If you're smart enough to follow the directions it's really not difficult at all.
Now if you have some type of Canadian insurance income that you bought a house in Washington D.C. with then I would suggest that you not take it to the idiots at H and R Block to help you with it. Those people were given a half assed class and are paid 10 dollars an hour. They are not really at the top of the evolutionary chart if you know what I'm saying.

Turbotax is an excellent user-friendly program for preparing straightforward income tax returns. If you don't trust Turbotax, and to me there is no reason not to trust Turbotax, you may want to try Tax Cut, which is H&R's entry into the tax preparation software market.

Interesting point...all I know is don't mess with the IRS, my exhusband did and they got all his money and mine before t was all over and I had nothing to do with it, wasn't even marrrried to him when he didn't file and or lied...h and r block girl here...and by the way...after he messed with them..we paid the huge debt, we were auditted for the next 3 years...they made it very hard to clean up the mess....

TurboTax is fine. Paying $100 for someone to manaully do it seems sily nowadays, since they basically just use taxcut anyway.

Turbo tax is not cheating. It is legal software to assist with the complicated job of preparing your taxes.

no actually its a way to save money, i do my own taxes and the taxes of some of my friends. especially for young people its so easy your done in 10 minutes.

Thanks for the conspiracy theory on that. WOW...I think it has more to do with the fact that the company the produces it, makes a ton of money on it...but that's just MY theory.
