I have dial-up and today I was on my computer checking my email and my daughter had a car accident out of state, she tried repeatedly to get in touch with me but couldn't ... I need help, what can I do because
I have dial-up, I can't afford to pay for 2 lines so how can I talk on the phone and be on the computer at the same time...... In my area, dial up is the only option...... is there a box or device or computer program/software that will enable me to do both at the same time? I would greatly appreciate any ideas you all might have, and could benefit if you give me details on what to look for and what type of device would work. Thanks to all who reads this and I hope you guys have a wonderful night..

if you have call waiting you could set your existing connection to notify you of an incoming call, you could also get something called netwaiting....if using dialup and only one line is there then you can't be on the phone and online at the same time, you can set your connection to disconnect if there is an incoming call though and then you don't miss any calls but if you don't have call waiting then it doesn't matter as the person calling you will simply get a busy signal.

Hi. When I used dial-up there was an option to pause the net connection to take a call. Check with your ESP to see if this is an option.
