how cold does it have to be for a college to close?

it is going to be up to -20 wind chill, and they have not closed any college campuses....

you MUST walk several football fields length to get to any building from the parking lot, dorm, etc. also, there are many who walk from their apartments and houses.

not to mention, the campus is on a hill & is always much colder than the surrounding area...

it is a safety issue... frost bite...

by the way, there are almost 500 school closings of high schools, etc. in the area.

It might be closed. Most local colleges where I live are closed tomorrow. It hasn't shown up on T.V. yet, but the local news's website shows it. Maybe it's the same where you live, and radio and T.V. stations just aren't listing it. It seems like for the most part, they just aren't interested in listing colleges, and only take the time to list preschool-high school. That, and sometimes colleges just don't get around to reporting it right away.

I don't know. Where I went to college they didn't close even after the worst earthquake in 80 years.

This isn't high school. Just stay home if it's too cold - no one will care. A lot of students paid a lot of money to go to school, and they expect to get their money's worth. Most people will find a way to get to school. If you don't want to go simply stay home - don't expect the school to close to make it easy for you.
