All I am saying is give homemade a chance. Is there something new about peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that I dont know about? This is an abomination of all that is sacred in sandwiching.

I guess that there is a price for everything. And to have someone make you a peanut butter sandwich comes at the price of 4.50.

Making it for yourself: priceless.

Panera Peanut Butter And Jelly

2016-11-18 04:50:58 · answer #3 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Well its only on the menu for really picky people who get dragged to Panera by their friends or for kids who are too picky to eat anything on the Panera menu.

And perhaps its so expensive because they sell so few and therefore the price rises.

Either that or its a pain to make and the Panera employees requested the price of the PBJ be ridiculously high so that less people would order it.

Also, I've seen the PBJ absent from the menu at some Panera bread.

I'm also pretty sure they use JIF peanut butter .

it better be some amazing @ss peanuts!

there's a place called peanut butter and co. that has different kinds of PB sandwiches. there's one called the elvis that has bananas, honey and bacon. its like 7 dollars but WORTH IT!

so maybe this Panera is doing something that we dont know about. aside from ripping the public off big-time.

though, ive NEVER known PB&J to be cheap.PB is like 3 bucks a jar, and jelly isnt really that much more. add the bread, and ... yeah, i couldve jus ran to wendys. and sometimes i want some quality PB not some store brand crap.

food that is served in a restaurant costs more than food prepared in the home. you are paying for the labor of someone to make it, as well as clean up afterwards. I go to Panera a lot but have never ordered PB&J. They probably have that on the menu for people with little kids. I like the Frontega chicken panini or the chicken salad sandwich with soup combo.

Panera Bread is a good restaurant...don't get me wrong...its just that their prices are kind of high. When I go there I usually get the half a sandwich and half a soup...it costs like $7. I could go to Chili's or CPK for around that much....I'm not into Panera Bread. Try doing the TOGO's thing...good sandwiches there!

Everything there is expensive. Went there once 3 years ago and have never visited again. I pretty much made my own gourmet sandwiches on gourmet bread at home and so much enjoy it with my spouse and kid. I rather go to a nice restaurant and order meals that I wouldn't make at home. But that's just my opinion.

well, maybe it came with something like a bag of chips or a drink?? I can see paying that if it had something with it but $4.50 just for the sandwich is outrageous!!

I agree..too much money for PB&J. I never get that for my kids. I usually let them get a bagel and cream cheese. Otherwise I just bring my own sandwich for them and I order from the menu.
