Hrant Dink, a newspaper editor in Turkey, wrote about the massacres of Armenians by Ottoman Turks that occurred in 1915-17. He was assassinated in Istanbul on January 19, 2007, allegedly by Ogün Samast, an ultra-nationalist Turk. He left behind a wife, two daughters, and a son.
