Collusion is a survival instinct. By cooperative effort, humans increase their chances of success. Without it, we would still be food for lions.

Our ability to cooperate (collude) is, I believe, a learned behavior. I notice that 'wild children' growing up outside human society do not develop this ability. Humans learn this by reward-based training or through punishment aversion. In the rewards system, collusion is desirable. In the punishment system, obedience is mandated under fear of pain. Either way, there is cooperative effort with others.
