How many bullets can a man take?

I've always wondered why the amount of bullets the main hero can take before dying differs so much, so how many bullets do you think a fit ,am at the prime of his life take? Also how much difference does it really make where it hits?

i work at LA USC county hospital & i see gunshots every hour, your question is hard to answer b/c there are so many variables, depends on the size of the round & where you r hit & also distance, i have seen ppl shot in the head & still walk around, in hollywood most heroes get shot in the left shoulder & keep fightingthis is BS b/c when u experience trauma like that your body goes into shock which will incapacitate most functions & also there is a lot of connective tissue & bone mass in the rotator cuff so when they r running all over fighting its not very likely, the most i have seen someone shot is 9 times in the chest & abdomen it was a cop & they removed 3 rounds but 6 r still in him the main reason he survived is the shoooter used 9mm which is a weak round & they were full metal jacket so they didnt expand or fragment

That depends on the caliber of the bullet. .22 short could just breach the skin and stop there, so someone can take a lot.
On the other hand, if one was to get hit by a 0.50 caliber bullet, the hole left behind might be big enough to pass your arm through, so unless you were hit on the guy next to you, you are quite dead.
Then, the is also the aspect of where one got hit. Get a bullet in the arm, and you may need to have it amputated, but someone can get hit repeatedly in non vital area and pull though. Get hit once through the aorta, and nothing can save you.
If you take your cues from Hollywood movies, then it is well known that however shoot at the hero has horrible aim, and all bullet always miss; while the hero can probably put 10 people out of action with only 2 or 3 bullets.

If the bullets are targeted very carefully into a persons' buttocks, then a man can take a great many. The goal would be to penetrate the muscular flesh without hitting any bones (because a hit to a bone could deflect the bullet into the intestinal or groin areas). The bigger the man's ***, the more meat there is to shoot. You would also need help to keep the man still while you are sending hot slugs into the cheeks of his ***. I would recommend 38 special full metal jacketed rounds (they have enough mass and velocity to maintain a reasonably straight path even after they have entered his flesh). So, if you've got a man with beefy *** and you evenly spread the bullets around, you could probably plant 20 38 caliber slugs into his behind. Of course, this poor fellow will be needing some serious hospital time to recover from all of that damage. Let's just hope he was a very bad guy who needed a serious "lead spanking".

Obviously the world record would be stunning I'm sure, but i know that multiple wounds to the chest add up to make the situation far worse that the sum of the wounds.

A thing called the death triangle or death spiral sets in in which hypothermia, lack of clotting and increased acidity in the blood due to lactic acid build up feeds off of itself and makes things progressivly worse.

Saw a hospital show the other day in which a guy who got to the hospital right away died of this even though each of the four bullets he took to the cest was theoretically non fatal.
