My son was the same way, he was 19lbs 8oz at his 3 month chek-up, he was about 25lbs at his 6 month check up, and he was in 24months clothes when he was 6 months. Don't worry he'll slow way down in his weight gain and he'll just be growing taller. My son still weighs around 26 or 27 lbs, and he's now 8 months, but he is getting much taller, so he looks really big.

I just brought my 3 month old son to the pediatrician a few days ago and he weighed 17 lbs 3 oz! The doctor told me that he was literally off the charts. I told him that my boyfriend was a huge baby and is still a big guy now. I pump for my son so all he drinks is breast milk. The doctor told me to give him a few ounces of water between feedings to hold him over. I think that's ridiculous that he even suggested that to me! I know according to the charts, my son is in the 95% for weight, but I know he's healthy and that's all that matters. Babies grow at their own rate. Also, after 3 months, the weight gain slows down a little. Then they start crawling and walking too! So don't worry about his weight-as long as he's healthy and happy

My son weighed 7lbs4oz at birth. At 2 mos he was 15 lbs 11oz. At 4 mos 20lbs 7oz. I was freaking out because he was so big, off the charts in weight. The doctor was not worried at all and kept saying, well, they say you can't put a baby on a diet. But I just would get so sick of all the comments everywhere we went. "How old is he?....Oh my goodness, he's huge." I know they were just making an observation, but it was very hard on me because I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. He would always cry at the end of a bottle, so I would think...he's still hungry and feed him a little bit more. I started to notice that he'd cry at the end of any bottle...didn't matter how much. So I started to give him his bottle and then put in his pacifier after. I think he was just upset because he was still wanting the sucking reflex. (I know, I know, should have been breast feeding, but there were reasons breastfeeding didn't work for us, I had to pump) So, long story short. He is now 6 months old and now weighs 21 lbs. So, I think the combo of paying more attention to his cues and him being more active from 4-6 mos made a big difference. Don't listen to what others say. It can be hard, but as long as your baby is happy and his doctor is not worried. It will all even out I'm sure.

My son weighed 20 pounds at 3 1/2 months. He was 9 lbs at birth. He is now 2 1/2 and very lean. He quit gaining weight so rapidly at about 15 months and just grew length wise.

My daughter was around 17 lbs. However, I know some people that had their sons weighing about the same as yours at 3 months! Like yours, they didn't look overweight. Good luck with the baby!

Babies should get between 24 and 32 oz per day (this goes from birth to age 1). When each of mine were 3-4 months, they were taking 6-8 oz per feeding, about 4 times a day (they pushed the 32 oz, some days going over). Don't worry about how many pounds your baby weighs, but do watch the overall fat on your baby. Babies should have chub, but it is possible for them to be TOO fat. Both of my boys have always been amongst the 90-110-percentile for weight all their lives; they're both just big boys.

My son is 17 months and weighs 25 pounds. i don't think he weight but around 11 or 12 pounds when he was 3 months. Your son will probably gain more in the first year and then taper off after he starts crawling/walking.

Wow, my son will be 1 on Saturday and he still doesn't way 20 pounds, but he has always been small for his age.
At his four month check-up he weighed 13 pounds and his two month check-up was 11.1, so at three it was probably 12 pounds.
