According to this thread, it is the legalistic attiitude that says under YAHOO rules its okay to teach a child they are gay, but in our country go to jail for having sex with anyone under 17 in some states 16. Hypocrisy in its finest fashion. Use the legal system, and bend it according to your own beliefs. Does GOD truly make people gay? Though many dispute the bible, saying it is not from GOD, surely it contain worthy information pertaining to life and how to live? So then did GOD create gay and lesbian people to be what they CHOOSE to be? Or rather did he not say that this world is a fallen realm, where man is tried by temptations? As it was once said; " Thrill me with your acumen"

Teaching people under 18 they might be gay is the same as telling them to have sex? Do we recognize that hetero teenage kids have sexual feelings? Because puberty does not start at 18. Recognizing same-sex attraction in minors is not the same as encouraging them to have sex. It is about dealing with their feelings and others' reactions to them. As far as God goes, that is a completely personal thing. Not everyone believes in God, and among those that do, there are many different variations of belief. Many people who believe in God do not believe in the Bible. The Bible was written by men and there is no logical reason why everyone should accept that every word of it originated from God. If you believe in it, that's your thing. But that's where reasoning breaks down and emotion starts to take over, whether you realize it or not.

edit: Jon G, get to know some actual gay people, before spewing slime.

First off, being gay has nothing to do with sex. So the legal age of consent has nothing to do with teaching childern if it is okay to be gay.

The bible is inspired by God. However, it was written down by man and translated by man. Through both we lose some meaning. That is why speaking to God is so important. Very few people can actually speak to God in a two way conversation. (Actually hear his voice.)

God makes everyone unique. Yes, he made us gay. I think he did it to show that life is beautiful in many ways. It's the same reason he made different races. If everyone was the same, it would be boring. Everyone is different which makes life beautiful.

What good is a hero without an arch villain? Some of us were made with a weakness for greed, some sloth and some lust. The enemy, if he exists, sounds like the type to target our weaknesses not strengths. There are those who have a weakness for violence but are not touched by a sexual weakness. Perhaps we drew a weakness to fight with out of a hat before we came to earth. I wonder how society would react if greed was theorized to be genetic.

There are penalties decreed for sexual sin. If he tells you that it is an abomination, then how can he create you to go against this decree? People may feel a strong urge to murder, rape women, or molest children. Isn't it better to not act on those urges and go to your grave knowing you chose not to offend God and your fellow human being? Same with gay urges. Seems to me it would be better not to act on them and put your soul in jeopardy.

God doesn't make ANYONE. He made Adam, Eve and Christ. THAT'S IT.

The rest were BORN. That's right, we were born through the process of impregnation, 9 months in utero and then the "miracle" of birth. No creation involved.

Silly silly one, to discuss sex isn't having sex. Teaching someone that it's ok to be attracted to the person they are attracted to isn't condoning sex with minors...did your mommy tell you that you couldn't like girls before you were old enough to sleep with them?
Your Mythology has nothing to do with the conversation and has no legal standing.

God did not make people gay or create any gays. People make themselves gay.

If your mom says "Don't eat any cookies from the jar." You would probably do it anyway. Probably after awhile, you get tired of eating cookies and want something different, so you eat something eles. That is kinda like sin in people.

Humans try male/female sex. They are looking for happiness and a special feeling. After awhile they want something else, so they turn to their own sex (male/male or female/female). Maybe they get tired of that so they turn to having sex with animals. God did not create gays or beastiality. Humans started it themselves.

If you believe in god then either you believe 1/ he makes mistakes or 2/ he creates abominations or 3/ you somehow justify how cruel and selfserving your god is....I mean who needs to be 'worshipped'????I don't even know an adult today who needs worship(except maybe tom cruise) much less a god.
