Currently he pays me child support but sometimes I worry that he might not survive until they are 18. Will my children receive some sort of income from his social security benefits if this would happen?

sure until they turn 19 yrs old or 24 if they continue to college. and YOU and them are entitled to survivors benefits. my brother was 37 when he passed away and his son and ex wife got 2400.00 per month. i think it is based on how much u have earned, payed in and eligible points.

however, why be a burden to the already abused soc sec? get life ins on the boy and buy him a few cases of his favorite drink. keep him in good supply of his fav beverage and your windfall will probably come soon.

Yes, they will.

But get life insurance ASAP.

Social Security isn't enough, especially if you figure inflation into the equation.

We can only hope he does not die till they are 18. I am sure that me and other do not want to take care of your kid;s. Take life insurance out on him just term.

Yes they will, so don't worry if he drinks himself to death you won't be left high and "dry".
