some people can't handle the truth, or maybe you don't have tact.

I wish you'd had an example but I'm thinking maybe you mean being truefully blunt. Sometimes all of us do that but it can be very hurtful if not handled tactfully. I mean like you have a new dress and may say to a friend excitedly what do you think of my dress. Should your friend say bluntly I hate it. Better to say I like the color or something that won't make someone feel bad. You didn't say you liked the dress just the color or you can always change the subject real fast and compliment their hair or clothes.

The way you tell and the time(situation) really matters. No doubt truth does hurt, but one has to be very careful and think twice before commenting even if it is truth.
What is the point telling the truth, which would make you to loose friends?

because it is so subjective. Are you sure you know what IT IS all the time. I find myself laughing on the inside because of peoples need to verbalize their opinion. It's fun. I have my own of course but don't we all? People who ask you for your interpretation of "like it is" usually already have their answer. So when you have something to say that is not in agreement with them, It is usually thought of as wrong and it sometimes is better to just keep it to yourself.

Your motives may be what bothers people. Telling it like it is?
you're telling it like you see it. Before you feel the need to "tell it like it is" again. Pause...and ask yourself why you feel the need to do it. Are you trying to be helpful? Are you trying to show how smart you are? What is your intention behind the action? You may decide its not a great personality trait to have.

People do the same to me. Its cool though, you are true to yourself if you tell it like it is. The way it is is simply the way it is. I don't get why people get so pissed about hearing the truth. I guess its all in HOW you say it though, but you are still entitled to your opinion, so who cares?!

Who does that to you?
Telling it like it is - is how it should be.
What's the point in being any other way.
At least people know where you stand.

We are in agreement on that.
It's almost like I'm afraid to tell it like it is anymore. The shame. Apparently, no one likes hearing the Truth...
