I am writing a research essay for school and I need to find some interesting, attention grabbing controversial issues that I can speak for either Pro or Con. Does anybody know any controversial issues off the tops of their heads that fits the above description? Oh and I almost forgot, I can’t talk about abortion, or guns/gun control…everything else is fair game.

How about "Genetically Modified Foods"? You can find a lot on both sides. And it's not an issue that's been done to death.

Another favorite of mine is "Commodification of water." Easy to organize & very very interesting. You can say a lot about the big, evil corporation Bechtel, the IMF and the peace-loving people of Cochabamba, Bolivia.

Well the Sheik in Australia once told his Muslim counterparts to go out and rape wemon who aren't covered up. Maybe you could take it from an angle of 'should other culture's fit into the culture of the country of which they are now citizens' or the debate about 'should people cover up so to avoid everything'. Or 'should leaders have so much influence'. Or 'are our leaders always right'.

I agree with the GMO's. I did a report on this in college. I focused on the use of GMO's in food donated to 3rd world countries but there are many sides to this aspects of this issue that you can focus on.

Minorities deliver it on themselves... What? So we(majorities) are meant to provide them particular remedy and not in any respect make jokes? ... rather even as they merely favor to be common as between the majority? yet nevertheless favor particular remedy... huh!
