It can mean the baby is dehydrated, but if the baby is that seriously dehydrated they would also have a dry mouth, and if there skin was pinched it would not bounce back, but rather stay up in that pinched position. My kids front fontanel felt slightly like that too and they were not dehydrated but I still asked about that and was explained the other signs of dehydration. Also they would have no wet diapers, if you have other symptoms go to the ER immediately. If not, just ask your Dr. about it.
"The fontanelles should feel firm and very slightly concave (curved inward) to the touch. A noticeably sunken fontanelle is a sign that the infant does not have enough fluid in his or her body" http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003309.htm

It is usually a sign that baby is dehydrated...has your baby had a fever or anything? Yes, you should go to the doctor or ER if it has you concerned, just to be on the safe side. There is really not a home remedy for it...go have the baby checked out! Hope everything is okay!

It is a sign of dehydration.
I have heard of ways to lift it back up, (home remedies) but I wouldn't want to put a baby in that kind of pain :( ...
But I looked this up for you and I put the site address down here for you so that you can look it up so that you would know more information concerning a sunken fontanel.
Poor baby! I hope that your little one will be alright.

I know that can be a sign of dehydration. so I made an urgent appointment and rushed my daughter in to the peditrician (even though she was not sick, acting fine, and drinking normal). It cost me a $10 co-pay to find out that she was doing well sitting up and that was a normal result of gravity on her head.
but, better than be safe than sorry.

Usually it means the child is dehydrated and should be taken to an E.R. immediately.
