To lose weight, you have to consider several things. First, your activity level. Second, your diet. Third, your goal.

To generally lose weight, increase your activity, or create new ways to expend energy, while watching what you eat. Avoid indulging in snacks, and try to eat healthier. Eat 4-5 small meals a day, instead of 1-2 huge meals per day. If you're hungry for a snack, try an apple or a slice of melon.

If you live close to work or school, walk instead of drive. Begin a new work out. Even doing situps and pushups in the privacy of your home will get you on the right path.

If you are seriously overweight, try low-impact exercises, such as walking and swimming; especially if you are not used to working out.

Start a diet and work out log, listing what you eat and what kind of activities you do, and for how long. Take this list to your local dietitian or nutritionist and they can get you even closer to your ultimate goal.

Mintydent gave you a great answer. But here's a tip from me; I just lost 5 lbs in two weeks: WORK OUT!!! It's so hard to get motivated it really is. I've been trying to get myself to do so for three years and I just started. Just work out. That's all. Drink loooooots of water; it increases your metabolism. And just keep active! If you really truly want a fit body, then you need to have a healthy lifestyle all together. And once you start, you can't stop. Once you body starts to look the way you want, the reward is so great that you won't even LOOK at a soda. So just have fun, and work hard.

Many often think that losing weight is about reducing your fat intake...

One diet I STRONGLY recommend is the Montignac diet...

Low carbs.... Low sugar....

That means, cut down on lollies and chocolates (except for sugar free dark chocolate - in small doses), potatoes, bread, rice....

IMPORTANT >>> Exercise BEFORE eating...

People often think that exercise after eating will burn off whatever they have just eaten..... Better to burn off first, then eat.

Hearty breakfast, light lunch and lighter dinner....

Ensure you eat at suitable times and stay constant with the times you eat..

Few tips from me.

The simplest way would be to eat the right amount of servings from each food group and burn more calories than you eat (usually working out for 60-90 min would be the best way to burn the right amount of calories)

To tell the truth, on weekdays i usually don't eat for 8hrs this includes the time i wake up which is 6:00 am to 4:pm and so far I used to weigh 90 lbs and I've went down to 80 i did this for 2 years. But Its not safe so I suggest you do some exercise and eat less fatty foods. You can do some bicep curls, sit ups and push ups, or crunches.
