Peyton is close, but he needs to win a couple more super bowls, we'll see what he has done in a few years. Joe Montana and Tom Brady are certainly clutch Qb's, and are in the top 5, Farve is great. Marino was perhaps the best, but never won a super bowl, which isn't entirely his fault. Jonny Unitas is probably the greatest of all time though.

Sammy Baugh.
Before him the QB was a running back that threw as often as L.T. on an option. After him the QB is a passer.
I assume you mean ever.
No other QB changed the way the position is played.

My Top 5
- Joe Montana: Best big-game QB ever.
- Johnny Unitas: A Legend that fails to get his "props" from today's NFL fan.
- Peyton Manning: Will hold virtually every passing record when he retires, now has a championship to validate his career.
- John Elway: A gunslinger and amazing athlete who owns 2 SB rings.
- Tom Brady: A clutch/consistent QB...only detriment is that he's somewhat of a "System QB".
***Honorable Mention: Dan Marino, Terry Bradshaw, Brett Favre, Steve Young

Joe Montana got to be the #1 quaterback, because he is 4 out of 4 super bowls, and if you had to choose one quaterback to win a super bowl, you would have to go with him because he has never lost any, and he has never thorwn an interception in one. Tom Brady is also up there will super bowl wins and mvp, but he always relays on his kickers to do the dirty work, rather than driving down the field and scoring a touchdown. Many people also say dan marino, but when bret farve breaks all his records (and he will, because the guy will never retire) then all of your reasonings for dan will be gone.

There were so many good QB's, but I would have to say Joe Montana. There are great QB's, but Joe Montana was a great QB who won. He is also one of the most accurate passers of all time. I think he has a record of the most receptions in a row, not sure if he still has it but did once.

Dan Marino. The quick release and accuracy combined to make him the most effective QB ever. Unfortunately, the fact that he never played on a team that won the Superbowl causes most fans to downgrade him.

Peyton Manning because when he's done he'll have the highest QB rating of all-time plus alot more records. Not Brady who goes to the superbowl because of his team, just ask Bledsoe. Montana, Favre, Marino and Elway are close.

Bret Favre. He is the toughest son-***** ever. He also can play with the best of them after 16 years in the NFL. Im glad he will be back next season.
