To frig/frigging (meaning A) to copulate with, and B) to pleasure one's self) was vulgar slang in common use until about a hundred years ago. It was used in much the same manner as another 4-letter word we throw about these days. I believe we feel more comfortable using it nowadays because its true meaning is obscured in the fogs of time!

the correct spelling for that word is "freaking"

i usually say it as it is, or "friggin" :)

Both. It depends on where you're from and what kind of accent you have. Here, in fact, we say "freakin'" more than anything.

i've seen both written. urban dictionary lists them both with pretty much the same meaning.

It is really "f*cking" or "f*uck'n". Anything else is just trying to avoid this word, so doesn't really matter how it is spelt.
