just comine the terms

80 = 3y + 2y + 4 + 1

combine 3y + 2y into 5y

80 = 5y + 4 + 1

combine 4+ 1 into 5

80 = 5y + 5

now subtract 5 from both sides of the equation

75 = 5y

now divide both sides of the equation by 5

15 = y

so the answer is C, y = 15
