Why do poor people think that by voting republican they will become rich?

It seems that the middle class and poor like to vote republican, and believe that the republicans will help to make everyone rich, when it is obvious that they are going to steal all of our money to make themselves even wealthier?

I've often wondered about that, and I think I may have an idea but it won't be very popular... I think that poor people, especially white ones, tend to be more racist than educated people. And it's the racism that causes them to be more conservative. They think liberals and democrats are the party that is more pro minority, so in essence many of them vote republican out of hatred. I can't think of any other reason why they would vote the way they do.

Most poor people vote Democrat, and the one's who do vote Republican, realize that Republican Economics is much better, as it allows for the equality of opportunity.

Have you actually asked anyone why they voted Republican or Democrat?
And I don't think my money was stolen. At least I know it wasn't used for more social programs that make people even more dependent on the government.

Why just because the Republicans think it's better to get people into the work world and taking control of their own lives instead of showering them with the dead end life of welfare?? Is it the Republicans that want minimum wage hikes so that the small guy goes out of buisness and raises the cost of buisness unto us? And it's a foolish statement that voting any party will make you rich, thats something you do yourself.

What makes you believe that they believe this? What is your source for that? I would think it has more to do with religion, with more Christians being conservative/republican than Democrat. I sit in the middle and watch both of your arguments, like yours and laugh. Is this question really swaying people's opinion to yours? Or is it more likely to drive them from you like the plague?

Actually, they might vote Republican because they prefer morals to political correctness. Believe it or not, the wealth is distributed almost identically between the two parties.

You know what, I don't believe what your spouting for a minute.
The only way anyone in this life gets ahead is by being willing to work hard, use their head and manage their money right.
But we have bars full of bozo's , doing nothing but pissing their money away and begrudging anyone that's out there working to get ahead.
The only way my husband and I have got ahead is by sheer determination and willing to work our hind end off. Sure as hell not dumb enough to think any political party was going to make us rich.

first of all, people don't vote republican to make money...they vote republican because in their opinion it's a good government option. and the republicans don't steal money...they work (something that many dems have not yet discovered).
