I use Japonesque cosmetic brush cleaner because it's easier on the bristles and it disinfects them.

I have Bare Minerals soap for brushes but I don't think there is a real difference between using it or soap or even shampoo to wash them. I wash my brushes and then rinse them until the water is clear. I let them air dry.

I've always used shampoo. I mean, they are natural bristles (in most cases) and you are mainly trying to remove skin oils, right? I add the shampoo to warm water & for the ones that are particularly dirty, I'll use a little extra shampoo directly on the brush. Swish it around in the water & then rinse under running water. Repeat if necessary until the water runs clear. Go outside & swing them around until most of the water is out (don't do that inside, as the water will fly everywhere). Then press them flat in a heavy towel to blot out most of the rest & stand them bristles up in a coffee mug to finish drying.

I have heard soap and water works but I would definitely rather use the MAC Brush Cleaning Solution because it conditions and disinfects the brushes.(http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/products/sp.tmpl?CATEGORY_ID=CATEGORY15085&PRODUCT_ID=PROD1436) MAC says using this product will lengthen the life of your brushes. You will be shocked at the amount of makeup that comes out the first time you clean the brushes.

this may sound weird, but it works! clean your brushes with antibacterial dish soap. the dish soap will break down and remove all the oils in your brushes, and the antibacterial agent will get the germs out! it really works!
Best Wishes:)

well, the MAC brush cleaner (it's pink) can be used about every other day or so since they're your own brushes...but once a month you should deep clean them with baby shampoo...it's so gently but still cleans extremely well because it's made for a baby!

bare Escentuals sells a broom shampoo referred to as nicely cared for, which retains them tender, yet you could also use any mild shampoo like Johnson & Johnson. moist the brushes, pur somewhat shampoo into your hand and wok into the comb head. Rinse out, reshape the pinnacle, and lay flat to dry in one day. not in any respect enable them dry status up, the water will stay in there and damage them.

clean them like they are artists brushes: you can go to hobby lobby and buy paint cleaner. it leaves them fresh and new looking. (make sure you rinse them off though, especially eye brushes)
