'Consider the source'. He must feel really insecure about something in his life as that's a bully trait. Hopefully some day he will get help. If it gets really out of hand report him to the manager. Whatever you do try your best to ignore the insults, let him know they mean 'nothing' and don't fight with him.

It's funny you ask, I'm dealing with the same thing for the past week, but this person has a higher position.

be upfront with the jerk, thel him/her that you would like them to be more upfront with you.

avoid working along side, having personal conversations or contact.

don't ever laugh or smile at any of thier jokes, and don't involve them in your social situations with other co-workers (however dont get to social with the co-workers). jealousley and power strugles may be playing a role with the bully

and finally, if none of this works, go above them and give your employer an oppertunity to help remove or fix this jerks attitude. An employer will do anything to maintain thier company's reputation

remember, no job is worth going to jail over, and keep a good reference, there's lots of jobs out there, be on the bosses good side. Just Leave (with proper reasining with the boss)

hey, if he even touches you, just fall and cry bloody mary, mabey you'll get a lawsuit from him. he's just a kid, he needs to learn sometime!

You need to talk to your boss. If you don't this kid will continue to harass you. If you beat him up, you risk losing your job and being charged with battery. Adults solve nothing by fighting.
You need to file a formal complaint against him, and if necessary search for a job with better working conditions.

Also, ask him maturely why he is acting the way he is. It sounds like he's immature, so I doubt you'll get much of a decent response. But you should ask anyway.

Report him to HR for creating a hostile work environment. Start keeping a record of each thing he does (what he did, when he did it) as documentation, it will help your case.
