I don't know what kind of headaches you have , but I'm blessed with migraines, and I can tell you that when I get a migraine, there aren't enough pain pills in the world to make it go away.

Because I've had a stroke, my neurologist won't allow me to take Imetrex, so I'm forced to go to have my husband take me to the hospital for for a shot of Demerol. Even that doesn't make my migraine go away, and when I wake up after sleeping several hours, my migraine still there. Caffeine didn't work for me.

I can sympathize with you. . I've been having migraines ever since I've been 21, and I'm now 50. They are so bad, that they have left plaque in my brain, and a doctor told me that I had MS. After having stroke , which was the result of so much vomiting and dehydration from a migraine, I burst a blood vessel and had to spend almost 3 weeks in a hospital, the doctors discovered I didn't have MS at and the plaque was from my migraines.

Well, I digress :-) Good luck in finding something. I hope you will find something that works for you. I never could.

There are several things you can do to treat headaches without pain killers. Acupuncture or accupressure both work well. If this isn't possible, massage in the area of the headache and then apply a thin layer of vapor rub on the forehead and temples (be very careful not to get in the eyes), and the back of the head (around the ears and neck). Then take a long cotton dish towel and make into a bandana. Tie it very tightly around the forehead and base of the skull. Go to bed immediately and rest. The headache will go away!

There's different kinds of headaches. If it's a migraine, you could try drinking a cup of coffee (might work). I like the idea of drinking a glass of water too. The other poster is right. Some headaches are from dehydration. Another method that works "sometimes" is to pinch the area of skin between your thumb and forefinger. Don't pinch too hard or it'll just hurt. But squeeze that area of flesh for around 5 minutes and if it's just a light tension headache, it might work. It has worked for me a few times. Like I said, it depends on the kind of headache you have. Good luck.

I agree with Monkey Lips on some things but Vapo-Rub aint one of em

Try a product called Head On if you can find it in the grocery store Health and Beauty Aide aisle

Other then that accupressure and caffiene if it's a migrane and sleep there isn't much else I can reccomend for you on this

Sorry but that's all I can think of for now

You can go to your local health food store. They should have homeopathic medicine's that will treat different types of headaches. Because you didn't specify why you think you are having them, you will see they have specific, and general ones that can help. I take them for migraines, and they work wonders. Also, taking fresh ground (it's the only way it's any good) flaxseed daily helps as well. I tsp a day, mixed with food. Good luck to you.

I haven't found a natural way to treat headaches yet but I have found that massaging the temples seems to help a little.

Acupressure is an amazing way to get rid of headaches, though difficult to do on yourself. But, take off your shoes (which bad fitting shoes themselves can cause headaches) and massage your feet...focusing mostly on the bottom. The bottom of your feet is the nerve-endings to your entire body. The head area is located on the upper part of your foot near the toes. Massage everywhere and hopefully your headache will go away. I usually just show people how to do it, never tried to explain it before.

Have you tried acupuncture or massage? Cranial Sacral Therapy has been proven really effective. Also, nutritional therapy may help. There's a phenomenal book on the market called "Prescription for Nutritional Healing" that's great. Good luck!

You can treat the headache by massaging the area between your thumb and first finger, applying ice to the throbbing area, using a heating pad on your neck or shoulders, if they are tense. You can also try taking a nap, drinking water, and gently stretching your neck and shoulders.
