Word of Warcraft is an rpg which means you create a character by their faction, race, features, and their class.

The goal is to level your character while doing various quests and traveling through various zones and dungeons. During this you also aquire new armor/weapons.

There are also side things you can do such as cooking, fishing, and first aid. You also have the ability to learn 2 professions.

Battlegrounds are mini games that a group of one faction play against another for honor which you can use for better armor.

The level cap is 60, but if you buy the expansion it is 70. When you get around these levels you usually raid.

Raiding is getting multiple people (20/25/40) together for various difficult dungeons to get ultimate armor/weapon drops known as epics.

There is a great deal of things to do which makes it highly addictive as you are never doing the same thing (unless of course you are leveling).

** FYI: there is a parental control function in the "Account Management" area of the worldofwarcraft.com website that allows parents to set when and how long their child can play.

There are thousands of people from around the world playing it on the same server at any given time. There is a profanity filter on by default, and the themes aren't inappropriate for a 15 year old.

It can be addictive, however, so I'd make sure he isn't neglecting his schoolwork or anything else. You'll want to monitor how much time he spends playing.

All in all it's good clean fun.

For a 15 yr. old, it wouldn't be that bad. Just know that the game can be very addictive... Plus, it has a monthly fee to play it. Other than that I see no problems.

it's the most addictive thing i have ever done in my 24 years of living!! it is a great game and i think everyone should play it. u will occasionally get someone on general chat that is rude and has bad language(they have a lang. filter for that, though) but other than that i see no other problems. u should defiantly let him play!! good luck and hope to see him online soon!

Addictive!!!!! I let my 15 year old start playing and now it is a constant battle because it is all he wants to do. He gets good grades and is still active in sports , high school hockey and wrestling, but if he has free time this is all he wants to do.

Yes, it has a profanity filter~if ur strickt about that. this is a great game: teaches people how to save their money, socialize, and most of all: Team Work. so much teamwork is involved in this game

By the way, u shudnt reside in yahoo answers for making a decision like this (just my opinion)

fun, addictive....somewhat adult, but 15 is fine I think. My 8 year old watched me play before and it wasn't too bad. Watch for the addiction though.
