This show I believe was directed by Joss Whedon. It came on right after Buffy the vampire slayer ended and was aimed toward that crowd. It was about a girl that washed up one day from now where and had powers. It didn't last long. Can anyone tell me the name of that show and what happened to it?

I think you mean Firefly. After that show got cancelled they had a chance to make a movie about it and that's Serenity. I don't know why they cancelled Firefly, but it's really turning into a cult TV show. It's selling loads of DVD's in Europe esp in the UK.

Sounds to me like "Firefly"... There were only like 14 episodes. The movie "Serenity" is based on the series.
