not a toe nail but a toe the back of my toe is yellow

Yellow? At least its not blue, or even black! Well, put some socks on and try to warm your foot up. If that doesn't work, you might want to talk to a doctor.

I would say something to do with Circulation. I would make sure to tell your doctor about it asap. Frostbite comes to mind. However the problem could be much more deeper than that like diabetics who often have feet problems and circulation problems.

sounds like its not getting any circulation. does it hurt? does it tingle? is it just numb? if it's not getting any circulation for some reason it'll turn dark blue to black and hurt. you might ought to get it checked out before that happens, because at that stage it's dead tissue.
