Try a white noise machiene to help her. Its a very soothing noise to newborns and simulates the womb so she feels safer in such a scary and unfamiliar environment.

My baby went through the same thing, for the first few weeks she would wig out big time in 1/2 a second if the light was off or mom or dad wasn't in the room. Luckily, at 6 weeks, she seems to be outgrowing it. Either that or I'm reading her cries better, lol. There was nothing to do but comfort her, now we're entering a phase where she doesn't sleep hardly at all. Luckily she'll just chill in her crib, car seat, bouncer or swing, depending on her mood, lol. Enjoy the peaceful sleeping baby while you can! Lol, Good luck!

Try Swaddling the baby. They are born with a natural startle reflex (moro reflex) that they do in there sleep. They throw there arms up in there air which wakes them from there sleep and scares them. For me swaddling worked very well for the first 6-8 weeks. The moro reflex usually goes away bu 4 months.

My little one did too, she would wake and look startled and start to scream.

It just passed and she was fine!

All the best

If it isn't effecting the total amount of sleep your baby is getting then I wouldn't worry.
