I have a D-Link DI-524 wireless router..on the Xbox site it says firmware versions 1.05 and 3.00 are compatible, so I went on the D-Link site to download one of those versions...it had rev a, but I think a different type of it? (there's a picture of the label, the P/N thing was different from mine but otherwise the same) Either way, it wouldn't let me download the firmware... so I'm just wondering...CAN I get either of those firmware downloads on mine..the label says P/N: BDI524 and S/N: D9OP144003450...and hardware version is a1, firmware version is 1.03. And if I can't get the listed compatible firmware, will it still let me get on Xbox live? I can't test it yet because I don't have the wireless adapter for the xbox, but I'm gonna get one soon.

I have a D-link DI-524 rev a1 firmware version 1.03 router. I supposedly can't get Xbox live unless the firmware version is 1.05 or over, so I tried to download the only firmware update available for my router. It didn't work because there isn't a D-link card in the computer, instead there's a belkin one from the old router that broke. So I can't update firmware no matter what..will the firmware version 1.03 work with Xbox live at all..or would I be better off buying a new router that comes with an Xbox live accepted firmware version?

You just need to get the compatible firmware and flash it to your router. It should be very easy to do. You can always do a search on the d-link site and download the exact version you need that way. However, ANY firmware update after 1.05 should work with Xbox Live. I see the latest for your router is 1.23. Just get that. You will be fine.
