My friend really needs help with this. She would ask herself, but she went to lay down because she doesn't feel good. She told me that her period was a blackish color, and she has cramps like she's never had before. Any suggestions or solutions would be welcome. thanks!

All of these answers are great so far.. She just refuses to call the doctor or anything because she lives with her father and he doesn't know like, anything. Also, her sister who lives in Philly won't answer her phone. I told her to go to the doctor but she just won't listen. Keep the answers coming!

Motrin, heating pad, and a lower back massage. Sounds like the period is heavy. Sit on the toilet as much as possible and drain. The more blood she lets out the faster it should be gone.

She should definitely call her OBGYN and tell them what is going on. That is not good if it is a blackish color. I know sometimes you tend to let old blood out that is a brownish color and it last for a few days. But when that happened to me, I was not in pain nor did I not feel well. Hope she feels well!
Call her doctor. Someone is on call and they will call her back.

I would go to the OBGYN because she could have a cist bleeding or a miscarraigeand both need medical attention.Blck blood means old blood and that concerns me.Please urge her to go And good luck

Black blood means congealed blood that's been in the body too long. This is not good. If she's feeling sick and crampy like she's never felt before, you should take her to the hospital. If she's wearing a tampon, tell her to take it out. She could have toxic shock syndrome, which can be treated. But don't wait! Go now!

it is most probably just the blood clots, they are darker in color and if she is passing those she will cramp more than usual
