what old ghost movie was this?

where a girl drowns in a pond at an old house and her brother (child hood friend?) can't find her? This is an old movie, maybe in england. Later when he is grown he goes back to the house and jumps in the pond and finds her body, ending the hauntings of the house. It had all the good stuff like weird rooms with scary dolls and stuff.

OK, I know it's not "Haunted", with Aidan Quinn done in 1995, though it sounds very similar. I remember seeing this maybe 25 years ago. Maybe it was the original BBC screen play on the James Herbert novel "Haunted". Where can I find that on DVD?
