Fatty foods -- deep fried fatty foods, etc. Gallbladder pain is usually right upper side of your abdomen, sometimes in your back on the right side. You can have nausea with it, too.

There are tests -- like a painless ultrasound of the gallbladder that can tell if you have gallstones -- or a Decida scan if the ultrasound doesn't show stones. The Decida can pick up problems with the gallbladder not caused by stones.

Right before my aunt had her gall bladder removed, she found it extrememly painful to eat anything with fat! She was eating a diet of fat free EVERYTHING! Also, she could not eat salad, even without the dressing. If she ate chicken broth that wasn't 100% fat free, she would be doubled over in pain. I would try a real fatty meal first!!

Foods with high fat content will be digested with bile, which is stored in the gall bladder. If you suspect having a gall bladder problem, though, you should probably go to the doctor. You could have gall stones.
