If the article named the person and stated that she was unable to work and therefore owed a great deal of money. Can she sue the newspaper for invasion of privacy? She was injured in a fire at work.

Technically anyone, can sue anyone they choose to for any reason....HOWEVER, proving the case in court is the bottom line. Information given freely & without conditions to the media is not an invasion.

How is that an invasion of privacy? What do you mean? If somehow they have invaded her privacy she could probably speak to the newspaper and make sure they won't do it again or she will sue them.
