Can I run a program, such as Adobe Photoshop Elements, from an external hard drive, with my notebook?

I run programs from my external harddrive all the time. I can run my paint shop pro, I am not real sure about Adobe, because they have a lot more restrictions. The best thing to do would be to try and see. The brushes and other files from the program need to go into my documents though, so I am not real sure.

No external hard drive as you don't want to install programs on external hard drives. External drives are for data storage, not program execution.

yep! i have my entire microsoft office suite for macintosh on my external hard drive!
