Maybe you just need to find something that inspires you beside people. I started writing and therefore I don't need as many people in my life. I create them myself.

I can be very "self" oriented. It takes me a lot to be "other" oriented. The way I did that for myself was to do things that tricked me.

Such as I now do event planning for my organization. I hold events for 100 to 200 people. I go around and get acquainted with quite a few people at the event.

You maybe could help yourself by getting into anything where you are putting yourself out there to not one person in particular. You would not believe how much praise you receive for doing these ventures.

If you are an adult join organizations that have you give public speaking activities such as Toastmasters (local chapters everywhere) or drama groups. Even things like "Meals on Wheels" where you can bring joy into someones life by talking to them. Let people come to you. Get Busy.

If you are an adolescent or teenager join a ton of groups at your school or in your community.

If push comes to shove and you can not help but still think you are wierd get a little therapy from a good licensed therapist recommended by your doctor. You may have some mental illness that you can be getting help with or you just need some behavioral training (learning how to socialize properly).

honey you're not weird. That's life. People are busy, they have other intrests. Close friendships often don't develop until later in life. Most of our social interaction from grade 1 to university involves friendships that last an average of one or two years at the most. I'm 48, and I have absolutely no contact with anyone I went to grade school, high school or college with. Of all of the people I know now, there are maybe a handfull who still have contact with anyone from college.
This doesn't mean you should give up however. Friendships do take work. But society is changing too. People move around frequently. people adapt quickly. Hang in there.

you have a low view of yourself, and so your perception is skewed. It seems to you like your friends aren't really being friends, but the truth is you just think that because you probably dislike yourself on some level. ask someone you know about it and they will tell you you're crazy. Either that or they will tell you to go away and never talk to them again, in which case they aren't really your friend anyway.

Hey it will all work out I use to be like that I use to make friends that would not like me at the end I know what ur going through and it hurts but like my mother said to me “its better to have just one friend then to have millions that just don’t like u but pretend to”… try to be yourself and they will come.. Hope it all works out honey ;o)

Hahaha... You're not weird. I think I'm quite similar to you. In the end, I just couldn't be bothered, and ignore them. If they think I'm important enough in their lives, they'll call me or contact me somehow. Heheh. Don't sweat it. Maybe they're all busy with school or work, or whatever else...?

Just be yourself and enjoy your life~! ^__^

Stop doing the work. They aren't good enough to be your friends.
