pretend? as in poseur? you dont have to be anything to be a fan of music. music *is* freedom. its like you dont have to have tatoos and ride a motorcycle to listen to metal and stuff, you dont have to wear ripped stuff and saftey pins to like punk... it doesnt matter.

This is a lame question but I will answer it anyway.
My husband and I are big indie rock fans and we aren't slackers at all. We both have college degrees, his is in music business and mine is in music education. He has been working at a record label for the past six years and I have been a teacher for four.
We are, however, both musicians. He is going on a four month tour soon with a pretty big indie rock band. I play with a few groups but would like to play more.
Everyone that we know who are indie rock fans are pretty accomplished. Just because a band isn't on the radio or on a major label doesn't mean they aren't any good. In fact, I prefer to listen to interesting, creative music made by young, innovative musicians. Does that make me a slacker?

Um no.
I like indie.
And I have four A's, 1 B, and 1 C.
So no.
But then again I got those grades from cheating off smart people. But for all I know those people like indie.
And I guess looking at my room I /could/ clean it. And I /could/ care enough to do something with my hair. And I could work harder to stay in touch with people. 'Mk. So I guess /I'm/ a slacker. But not everyone is.
And I didn't answer your question, but you made me think. So thankyou.
[Even though I have no intentions of changing, haha.]
