You asked two questions.
1. Is it possible for a gay man to become straight (you used different words, but that's what you meant)
2. Is it possible for a gay man to hide what he is and marry a woman and have children.
The answer to 1 is no, its impossible.
The answer to 2 is yes, of course it is. No one needs to be happy, I think it's better if they are, but they don't need to be. Men hid in the closet for thousands of years by getting married, having kids, and either living a miserable, lonely life with no one that felt right, or living a secret life on the side with a male. I have friends who are pentecostal who, if you asked them if they were gay would say no, and be all angry -- they are both married. Neither of them have slept with their wives in 15 years. They proved their manhood, got their kids, and live a secret life (neither woman guesses), having sex with each other. Have either of them changed? Nope. As one of them told me over Christmas, he's still "hoping I'll come around" cause they'd "like to **** me too."
I on the other hand am happy as who I am, and have had a male lover for the same 15 years that they've been sneaking around -- only I'm happy, have an open life, and we are completely accepted for who we are.
They had a right to their choice. A person who chooses to torture themselves for life and deny the sexuality that they desire has their life choice as a right too, and I have a right to my choice.
You can marry a woman and have kids -- what you feel will never change -- if you choose that path I suggest that for your own sake, you at least have honesty with yourself, which it sounds like you would like to avoid -- and pick the route of at least having a hidden "buddy" with whom you have sex -- I've known a man who didn't until he was 38- and it was hell for him. You are what you are, whatever you do with it.
Peace,
Reyn

He would basically have to repress his sexuality and maintain a lie for the rest of his life. He would still be gay even if he maintained such a life and most end up having sexual relations behind their spouses back.
It would be better for someone to be accepting of who they are instead of forcing self hatred on themselves and living a life that could potentially hurt all those around you.
Everyone has to make their own decision. I just hope people will learn to be more accepting and empathetic so people don't feel like they have to live such lies anymore.

Yes it is, but its rare. Alot of the times it is the otherway around. They get married and have children and then discover that they are gay or bisexual.

Bisexual? Sure, it's not like they don't already like the other sex.
Gay? Again, sure. If he wanted it bad enough I guess he could suppress his feelings and put a cap on his sexual desires.
Personally, I don't think he'd be happy. And is probably liable to snap and do something bad.

Well, if you are bisexual you like women so you can marry a women and enjoy it.
If you are a gay male you technically can "hide" yourself and marry a women but its not like you will enjoy the sex.

If you're gay, you can't change it. You may think you can, but you will not be able to change who you are.
