Nothing but a bit of a mess! As it's been stated a girl can still get pregnant while having sex on her period. However if you're asking if it's unhealthy, the answer is no. It's perfectly fine and often times more enjoyable as there is more to help lubrication. It also helps to ease cramping. Put a towel down on the bed or better yet, have sex in the shower for easy clean up!

Like others have said it can get messy. Yes you can still get pregnant.
There a number of reasons why this can happen:
Not all vaginal bleeding is the result of a menstrual period. Sometimes a girl will bleed from her Vagina at the actual time of ovulation - the time when the egg is released from one of the body's ovaries and then travels down the fallopian tube to the Uterus. And it is very common now for girls/women who are ovulating to experience some vaginal bleeding that can be unfortunately mistaken for a period.Sometimes ovulation can actually occur before the bleeding from a girl's/woman's period has stopped. Or it may occur within a few days after her period has finished. In both of these cases, having sex before the period has finished or just after it has finished, can result in pregnancy.
Having unprotected sex at any time including when you've got your period is incredibly risky. Along with the risk of becoming pregnant, there is also the risk of getting a sexually transmitted disease, such as Chlamydia, genital warts, or HIV (AIDS). The only surefire and safest way to prevent pregnancy and/or STD's is abstinence!
Now we would be rather unrealistic to expect this to be the case, so if you are going to take part in sexual relations with your partner, use a CONDOM! Or in the best case scenario - first of all, make sure you both get checked out by the Doctor so you have a clear bill of health. And then if all is clear, make sure you use some form of contraceptive or protection to stop you from receiving an unexpected surprise (or nightmare!).

It depends where you are in your menstral cycle. if you are starting the first day of your period, your body is cleaning out your old blood that was supposed to be used to grow a feritilized egg into a baby! I always thought this time of bleeding was safe as far as intercourse was. 14 days from the start of your period your body ovulates. This is the worst time if you are trying not to get pregnant. also the week of this and a few days more or less before and after 14 days you may still be fertile. The male sperm can live about 48 to 72 hours in the female body waiting to fertilize your egg. If I were you the best birth control I would advise for anyone to young or (not married) is abstinace. I would also advise that if you must and want to follow your human urges,,(and they are really hard to resist!) Please go to planned parent hood in your area! They will give you free birth control and will not tell your parents. Please take prtective measures to keep your self from getting an std. I hope this helps!

The scoop is that you may ovulate during or shortly after your period. If the release of the egg (which can live for one to three days) coincides with the lingering live sperm (which can live in your body for five to seven days after unprotected sex), you can conceive. The bottom line: If you are not using contraception, it's a crapshoot. Be careful because if your not you could have a surprise by next month...

Not much I'm afraid! If you can overcome the embarrassment of the situation - all power to you! Some guys (and girls) like to have sex when she has her period. Fortunately I am NOT one of those. Remember to use a towel in the event a mess is made.

If you mean when the girl is currently having her period then has sex.. nothing will happen. You'd just be having sex while on your period.
