i'm not allowed to wear makeup yet, but i've figured out a few ways to cheat a little.

-i put on mascara and then rinse it off, leaving a black shadow sort of thing under my eyes, popping them out slightly

-sometimes i sneak into my mom's room and put on some cover-up, but not so much so that she can tell

does anyone have any other 'tricks' i could use, or do you think i am still too young to put on makeup?

if you`re 13, i don`t really think you`d need coverup. it`ll only mess up your skin later on in life. when i was 13 all i wore was eyeliner and some mascara once in a while, but that was all. stuff like foundation and powder only messes up your skin when you`re at that age.

Why not ask instead of sneaking? The more you sneak the less your mom will trust you. Why not come out and say, Mom I know you think I am a little young for make-up, but would you show me the right way to use some cover-up?

You might forget that you have make-up on and your mom will see it. If you use her stuff she is also going to notice that the jar or tube is not as full as it was that AM.

Sometimes you can "miss" when you are taking off the make-up and it shows up on your clothes, sheets, towels from the bathroom etc. If you start doing your own laundry all the time all of a sudden your mom is going to know something is up.

If you see the pattern here, its a little lie that you've created, a web if you will that will continue to get stickier and stickier.
You are only 13 once, so ask for some colored lip gloss and be happy. (You can add it to your cheeks to give them a pinkier color)

Good Luck!

I think that at 13 years old, you should be able to wear a little makeup- eye shadow, blush and mascara. I would let you do it if you were my daughter. I've always been lenient like that with my girls. Friends of my youngest tell her that she's lucky to have such a good mother. As long as you don't overdo it, why not? Maybe you could put some on in the bus on the way to school, and use a makeup remover pad to take it off on the bus on the way home.

I think that 13 is probably old enough to wear a little mascara and some cover-up, but I don't have any ideas to share with you about how to put it on with out being caught. I hate to tell you this, but you mother probably already knows.

My little sister once snuck some make up with her to school and didn't realize that it was picture day - she had one bright blue eye shadow and neon pink lip gloss, we just laughed at her.

If you want to wear makeup, talk to your mom about it. If she still thinks you are too young, it would be best to respect her wishes and maybe just wear that little bit of mascara every now and then, but if you want to do "grown-up" things, then act like an adult. Just let her know how you feel.

I think it is OK for a 13 yr old to wear mak-up every once in a while,as long as it looks natural..not all that glittery stuff all over the face, and the blue eyeshadow..
But something really natural. I know I did.. I think if it looks pretty your parents will not mind.. I think they just don't want to see their daughter wearing the whole Barbie Make Up Collection..get my drift..
Maby some Mascara, and then curl your lashes with a eyelash curler..(but please buy your own eye makeup..don't share with friends or anyone, because it can transmit some nasty infections like Pink Eye or Styes..)
Some Lipgloss looks nice and Natural..if you have to use eyeliner don't overdo it either (Masacara that has run off unto your face does not look attractive)..if you have lighter hair use a lighter brown eyeliner
Stay away from Eyeshaddows OK?
I think if your parents dig your new look, and you still look like 13 just prettier they will let you wear it..
Thank God I have two sons...;)..just kidding..

Well, my daughter is 14 and she has been allowed to wear it for 2 years, but not allowed to look like a hooker or anything. She knows the boundaries. But anyway, there are a few things you can do to look better without looking made up. Try using baby oil or vaseline on your eyelashes - it makes them darker and shiny. The same goes for your lips - wear a tinted chap stick or vaseline. For your face, it's too bad your mom won't let you at least use a tinted moisturizer or acne medication, whichever you need. You might NICELY ask her about either one. For you eyelids, if you have some light brown eye shadow, you could rub just a tiny bit on your eyelids to enhance them and it will just look like a natural shadow.

Unless your mom is totally unreasonable, you might try just talking to her. Take some of the suggestions you get here and present them to her and see if she would go for any of them. She let you surf the net, she can't be that bad. :)

Tell your mom that you think you are old enough to wear makeup. I had the same problem with my mom. She kept telling me "I didn't wear makeup until college." and I told her "Ya mom, that was the sixties" Finally she came around to it when I was 13, when she saw my friends. They don't wear a ton of makeup and paint the faces like clowns, just a little here and there. After seeing them she decided I would take after my friends, and it's been that way every since.

But for tricks, just go buy some makeup in your spare time, and keep it in a shoebox under your bed. Or apply your makeup in the bathroom stalls at school.

I have a 'trick" for you, sit down and tell your mom you are ready to start wearing make-up....make a list ahead of time, bring it with you to the table...ask her for an hour of her time and go through the list with her with all the reasons you think you should be allowed to wear some make up...tell her you would like to go shopping with her so she can help you pick out the shades and tones that are best for you....be mature, no yelling, be serious and no anger,,,,,,,,,,,,you might be shocked at how she responds.. do a couple extra chores around home with out being asked...good luck. I am old enough to be your mother and have a 21 yr. old daughter and I think 13 is a fine time to start with some make up...I think she just may not want you growing so fast...she isn't doing this to be mean and you need to let her know you know that...good luck...hope it helps and hope it goes well.

ok

im 13

and i wear some eyeliner every once and a while and a lil mascara(smudged too)

my parents are also strict - but not so much anymore

but the trick is to slowly apply lil by lil over time
here are some steps:

1. some ppl wear lipgloss, but i dont . it makes my lips look big nad my eyes small! but wear it for like a week it u want

2. this is important
buy dark brown eyeshadow and a whitish sparkley type one.
apply it under your eyes lightly and a lil on the top. it looks soo good

and its tricky because you like your wearing eyeliner
but them when your parents look close, they cant see it cuz itw brown! make sure its eyeshadow cuz u can see brown eyeliner

put the white near the insides of your eyes (by your nose)
cause it looks pretty

wear for 2-3 weeks

3. add mascara wear 2 weeks

4. wear brown eyeliner instead of #2

tell your parents if they like the way you look. If they ask abour the make up tell them your experimenting with the way u look or
something

or just come out clean and tell them

hope it helps!

you're 13! you don't need a cover up!.. i'm guessing most girls wear it at scool. i started when i entered middle school. so when i was like 11/12. i personally think you should be allowed, but still, i am not your mother. try talking to your mom, and ask her even if a little brown eyeliner and pink lip gloss would be okay.. that'll make your eyes pop, and it won't look too much at all. i would kinda feel guilty sneaking around, so i wouldn't do that anymore. it's not worth getting in trouble. but so anyway, try talking to your mom, and tell her everyone else is wearing it.. then be like '' i'm a teenager''.. or something.. that shows maturity.

good luck girl!

I used to wear mascara when I went out and a bit of lipstick when I was 13, I went in the washroom, put it on and when I came home, went in the washroom and took it off. Otherwise I would have been grounded for weeks.
I let my daughter wear a bit of mascara and eyeliner when she was 13. Figured I'd rather see how she puts it on, than doing it the way I had to do it.
