This is the message that i get "Norton Antivirus has detected & removed a virus from your computer."

It gives me the object name, virus name: Downloader, & action taken: The file was automatically deleted.

When I click OK on the dialog box another virus alert dialog box comes up with the same message, but with a different object name.

I have updated my virus definitions & restarted my computer in safe mode having disabled system restore. While in safemode I have ran a full system scan. The "downloader" virus showed up and I deleted it. And when i returned to normal mode, the message that I'm talking about pops up everytime.

Any suggestions on what to do?

The reinstatement of the virus is due to fact that there is info in the Registry to "self heal" and the associated files with this virus are immediately re done upon reboot.

Try a System Restore to an earlier date when this virus was not present in the registry if you can do that sucessfully it will be gone.

If its been a long timelook for help on the WEB. Go to Google and find info how to remove this from the Registry using Start, regedit and a change in line name or a value number. It will be there as you are not only one with such a problem with that virus.

Then try using Spybot to locate the virus part in the Registry. this program does a descent job in locating and highlighting the position in the registry. Change or rename the highlighted line or change the value as directed. Reboot and check again, It will probably be gone.
